Abstract
The paper presents the results of full-scale and numerical studies of channel deformation in the lower section of the KMK damless water intake. The article presents the main factors for the destruction of banks during floods and low water periods. As well as developed recommendations for protecting banks from erosion. As a result of studies of the process of intensive local reformations of an easily eroded channel in plan, hydraulic schemes for the occurrence of local bank erosion were developed both during steady and unsteady movement in an open flow
